Introduction

GJS being one of the leading non-government, non-profit making, non-political and social service oriented humanitarian organization in the state of Orissa is dedicated to the welfare of the poor and needy people by way of different action oriented programmes. The organization is continuously adopting its programmes to address the changing needs and circumstances of the people through co-oriented and people centered approach. GJS was founded on 1st April 1974 and it was legally registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, it identified various problems facing the youth, women, children and elderly persons in the district of Khurda, Puri, Berhampur, Sundargarh, Cuttack, Jharsuguda & Koraput and has been responded their problems. The dedicated task force of GJS is engaged in creating awareness among people and the local inhabitants in the best possible ways. The focus of GJS is to bring the unprivileged sections of the society into national mainstream and ensure them a better standard of living with a sustainable growth and development.

From its inception GJS has been engaged in the livelihood security of the tribal and economically section. GJS believes that development can only be initiated by people, can be achievement by peoples initiative and sustained by the people through their collective action.

GJS has conducted 43 Health Camps, 4 Eye Camps, 14 Cancer Detection Camps, 23 Mass Immunization Camps, 69 Sterilization Camps, 18 TB Training programmes in different villages.

       In the development process Gopinath Juba Sangha received tremendous support co-operation from different corners of the world. SHG & Sangathans, Govt. Officials & others for nation building activities

       Successful running of all activities are possible because of the fairness effort and hard work of GJS members, staff & volunteers under the guidance & advice of Board of Management. So we also take this opportunity to extend our sincere application and thanks to all concerned for their willing co-operation & whole hearted support
